Awareness regarding COVID-19 among auxiliary dental staff in a tertiary dental care centre in Kerala- A cross-sectional study

Corona virus disease officially called as COVID-19, declared a “pandemic” by the World Health Organization; became major public health problem causing worldwide morbidity and mortality, despite various control measures. Extraordinary measures are taken universally to fight spread of ongoing outbreak. In such scenario, people’s adherence preventive is largely influenced their knowledge perception disease. Since dental care professionals having high chances infectivity, which in turn has serious implications, it essential that auxiliary staff must be educated, empowered provided appropriate relevant To assess level awareness regarding COVID-19 among Tertiary Dental Care Centre Kerala. A cross sectional survey was conducted all auxillary tertiary centre an online questionnaire through google forms. Details demographic data, about spread, symptoms, diagnosis, prevention safety practices related were obtained after getting informed consent. Descriptive statistics Chi square test done. Associations differences considered significant when p value less than 0.05. The initial sample size 50. Forty two participants completed study. Out 36% (n=15) below 40 years males. About 40.5% (n=17) had experience 5 years. Around 69% (n=23) good COVID 19. Statistically results seen with mode transmission Covid 19 age respondents (p value=.006);current treatment value=.011). study concluded there overall
